Yup..i guess they can afford to pay well. heres what THEY make on your $20.00 per hour:
i would have to guess that these rates are about industry standard. kinda makes ya feel good about all them $20 per hour FS/Halifax jobs...don't it.
I like them but. Share the wealth! I don't mind some one marking up my labor a 100% but this is more like 352% on the low end. After hour installs that's RAPE!!!!!!!!!!! And think its me thats the one gettin banged.

As you well know, we are in the midst of an economic crisis that we’ve not seen in most of our lifetimes. As a result of this crisis, we at Contingent have encountered increasing pricing pressures from our customer base and have made pricing concessions where appropriate. In order to remain viable and continue to provide opportunities to our valued partners, Contingent must pass a portion of these reductions along to you. Effective immediately, we are making the following change to our Minuteman program:
All Minuteman Partners are now paid at the hourly rate of $18.00 per hour. A 2-hour minimum is still guaranteed with these rates.
Please note that if you are already scheduled for a job with Contingent under the old payment terms and have received a PO with our prior terms attached, you will be paid at that price. In the event that you have been engaged, but have not received a PO, please contact your Point of Contact to confirm your agreed upon rate.
If you have any questions, comments or concerns please direct them to

HEY. Until this month I have been working for Contingent for over a year.
UNTIL this month they were pretty good to work for.
Presuming that:
a) you complete your jobs on time
b) you have a customer centric attitude
c) you file your paperwork (pictures aren't always needed, but if you don't do them, and need them, it WILL cause a problem
PROBLEM.
The "managing partner" (aka OWNER... Mark Stuherymeyer (not sure of spelling, you can google CNS and mp, and get it yourself...)
HAS decided as of JULY, that he is UNILATERALLY cutting EVERY single Tech on his contractor payroll from $25.00 (2 hr min + 1 hr travel=$75.00) to $18.00 per hour.
THAT is a 41% pay decrease.
There was no advance notification
There was NO notification of whether this is a short time reduction.
There was NO opt out.
There was NO DISCUSSION.
I would NOT complain at all if it had been LESS then a 41% pay increase AND
the company told it's contractors
a) how much THEY are giving back to the customers from THEIR side. Is that 41% reduction in their (usual industry charge of $100/hr FROM US, meaning they are now charging the CUSTOMER $59.00/Hour>???
Does this mean that the COMPANY, has determined that IT has NO RESPONSIBILITY to its own contractors? or are customers now paying only $18.00 too, and THEY TOO took a
41% pay cut.. (fat chance, right!???!)
(100.00 - 41%=59.00 hr) if they took THEIR 41%, that would leave 18.00 and we are doing the work atCOST
PERHAPS if we were told this , I would feel differently.
b) HOW long is this going to go on? MANY people have given up a SMALL amount per hour to help the general population of a company. Perhaps a SMALLER reduction would make technicians happier.
c) WHY no discussion anyway????
In general?
It WAS a great company to work for (and yes, I had a couple of jobs {1 or 2}out of over 200) that were not paid, but I understand special circumstances.
MY opinion>?
Do NOT give ANY assistance to this company. until they undo this massive painful pay decrease for (us) techs.

MY PERSONAL OPINION? take a look at my previous message.
They are NOW desperate for good techs, that are willing to cut their throats for $18/hr
DONT do it. tell them "SURE, you'll work for them at $18.00 plus a 42% uplift."

More on Contingent Network Services (CNS)
I think this will be the last comment I make on this company.
CNS has expanded from a strict service provider (body company) to a company that now is CONTRACTING DIRECTLY with retailers (they recently signed an 'end-to end' IT support service with a national retail [Mall]chain (Zuimex?)
(see HERE http://www.reuters.com/article/pressRelease/idUS154004+03-Dec-2008+BW2 0081203)
This contract is $200,000 PER YEAR for THREE YEARS.
Thus the reason they need to make US POORER.
THIS SUCKS. BIG TIME...
